Foursome

In golf, a foursome is a match in which there are two opposing sides and two players on each side. Foursomes usually utilize match play as a system of scoring, and two partners take turns hitting the ball. The first player tees off; the second player follows up, so on and so forth. In foursome games of golf, one player plays all of the even holes and one player plays all of the odd holes in any given match, and there is one of each for each team.

Foursome games are different from four balls, which simply mean that there are four players on the course at a given time. In foursome golf, partners work together to win (or lose) and alternative their shots accordingly. The Ryder Cup sometimes plays foursome golf, appearing on Friday and Saturday of that week.
