Fore
If you have ever heard fore during a game of golf before, it is just the person playing golf giving an alert to other players letting them know that the ball is on its way. The word fore prevents spectators or other players from being hit by the ball. There are many ideas of where the word for came from, including beware before which is a military term and the term fore caddy, which is a caddy waiting for the ball at the other end of the field waiting to scoop it out when it lands. This is how the caddy was warned that the ball was coming down, preventing them from being hit by the ball and alerting them that it was coming in to pick it up.
