Pat Hurst
Pat Hurst is an American golfer who was born on May 23, 1969 and was born and raised in California and plays mainly on the US-based LPGA Tour. She started playing golf when she was eleven years old. Hurst thanks Kiyoko Hurst, Frank Bundt and Gloria Armstrong for making a strong influence on her career.
Hurst was very successful as an amateur golfer. In 1986, she became the US Girls’ Junior Champion. Several years later in 1989, Hurst became a US Women’s Amateur medalist. Still in the same year, Hurst received top honors at the 1989 NCAA Championship where she played for her school, San Jose State University. She not only won an individual title, she was also held responsible for leading her team to victory. A year later in 1990, she became the US Women’s Amateur Champion and became a member of the US World Amateur Team.
Hurst turned professional in the year 1995 and also joined the LPGA tour in the same year. To date, she has won 5 LPGA victories in her career. Her first LPGA Tour win was in 1997 at the Oldsmobile Classic. Her second win followed just one year later at the Nabisco Dinah Shore. Her third LPGA Tour win was several years after in 2000 at the Electrolux USA Championship. In 2005, she made her fourth LPGA Tour win at the 2005 State Farm Classic and in 2006 she wrapped up her fifth LPGA Tour win at the 2006 Safeway Classic. She received one LPGA Award during her career and it was in 1995 where she was named Rolex Rookie of the Year. Hurst has played in the Solheim cup for 5 years, in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2007. She has won 1 major LPGA event and it was in 1998 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
