Soren Hansen
Soren Hansen is a European golfer born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born on March 21, 1974, Hansen has been playing professionally for eleven years now. At 34 years old, his golf career has been quite exemplary. Residing in Monte Carlo and Monaco, Hansen has had a charmed life, both personal and professional. His three championship titles, two (2) for the European Tour and one (1) for the Challenge Tour, proves this fact.
He turned professional in 1997, right after winning the Danish Amateur Stroke Play Championship that year. Just months into being pro, Hansen earned his first professional win in his home country, Denmark, competing for the 1998 Navision Open Golf Championship. His membership in the European Tour since year 1999 garnered two (2) tournament triumphs for the team. His amazing winning strokes won him the 2002 Murphy’s Irish Open, and the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Championship. The very same year, he finished 8th on the Order of Merit. His status as a top-rank Danish golfer was further strengthened when he got included in the top 50 Official World Golf Rankings.
A passionate patriot, Hansen consistently represented Denmark in the World Cup in 1998, in 2001 and 2002, in 2005 and in 2007.
Hansen has one offspring, a son named Casper who was born in 2005. Hansen often plays basketball with his 3-year-old toddler at home.
In this year’s PGA Tour, Hansen has played in nine (9) events, where he made five (5) cuts and earned $1,405,426. 00 in his money list. In the European Tour, Hansen played in twenty-two (22), and made eighteen (18) cuts. His biggest win this year was at the European Open, where he finished fifth with tournament earnings that amount to $128,826.00.
