James Andrew Tomlinsonis a professional English cricketer who currently plays for Hampshire County Cricket Club. He has also played for Wiltshire in the minor county championships. Born on 12th June 1982 in Winchester, Hampshire, James stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and his bowling style is left arm medium pace.

The height and build of Tomlinson gives him a healthy pace on deliveries. He is also capable of moving the ball late both ways which makes it very difficult for batsmen to hit the ball.

After having played for Cardiff UCCE side, Tomlinson got the opportunity to play for the second XI team of Hampshire. He played with Wiltshire in the 2001 season. He claimed the bowling figures of 6 wickets for 63 runs in a match for Hampshire, played against Derbyshire in 2003. His career was somewhat hampered in 2005 as he could not play the whole year due to back injury.

James Tomlinson’s best bowling figures for Hampshire were 8 wickets for 46 runs in a match against Somerset played at Taunton in May 2008. He turned out to be the leading county wicket taker of the 2008 County Championship season with 67 wickets.
