Stuart Law is presently the captain of the Chennai Superstars team in the ICL. The other teams he has represented are Australia, Essex, Lancashire, Queensland and Marylebone Cricket Club.
Law is the first cricketer from Queensland who led his native side to a Sheffield Shield triumph. He was a very successful cricketer in Queensland, Lancashire and Essex. In course of time, he procured British citizenship. In Australian domestic cricket, Law was a productive batsman, but during his era there was no scarcity of quality batsmen. So, he was given an opportunity to play at the Test level only once – which was in 1995-96 at Perth against Sri Lanka and in this match he scored an unbeaten fifty. From 1999 to 2003, he accrued 1000 runs in each English season, but could not continue the same in 2004 due to an injury. He score plenty of runs for Lancashire, however could not win any trophies for Old Trafford.

Stuart Law has played in 54 ODIs and in these has accumulated 1237 runs with 110 as his highest score. His batting average has been 26.89 and batting strike rate has been 75.28. He has taken 12 catches while fielding and has bashed 8 sixers, 72 boundaries, 7 fifties and 1 century. In the 807 deliveries that he bowled, he conceded 635 runs and took 12 wickets. His bowling strike rate was 67.2, economy rate was 4.72 and bowling average was 52.91.
