1994 - present
Murray William Goodwin has been chosen by Ahmedabad Rockets in the ICL. In the past, he has represented teams like Western Australia Second XI, Western Australia, Warriors, Sussex, Subiaco-Floreat, Mashonaland A, Mashonaland, ICL World XI, Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI, ACB Chairman’s XI, Zimbabwe and Netherlands.
Goodwin is a destructive batsman who is comfortable at any position in the top four. He played on the bouncy WACA wickets in Perth during his formative years. Due to these playing conditions, he became a basically back foot player who cuts and pulls the pace bowlers. As he has light feet, he is equally adroit while playing spinners. He debuted in Twenty20 cricket on 13th June 2003 at Southampton (The Rose Bowl) during a match between Hampshire and Sussex. Sussex was set a target of 154 runs in 20 overs. Goodwin was the No. 3 batsman, but on the very first ball he was trapped leg before wicket by Wasim Akram for no score. This match was won by Hampshire by 5 runs.
Career Highlights
Murray Goodwin has participated in 46 Twenty20 matches and in these has stockpiled 993 runs at a batting strike rate of 121.39 and batting average of 27.58. His highest score has been 102 not out. He took 6 catches and smashed 13 sixers, 116 fours, 5 half centuries and 1 century.
