Monde Zondeki
Monde Zondeki is a right arm fast bowler and a right handed batsman with the South African cricket team. He has also played cricket for the Warwickshire , Africa XI, Border, Warriors and the Cape Cobras cricket teams.
Monde Zondeki started playing first class cricket in 2000. He made his debut in International cricket in a One day International match against Sri Lanka at Bloemfontein in 2002. Zondeki bowled 8 overs and claimed the wicket of Marvan Atapattu giving away 37 runs. South Africa won the match by 6 wickets.
In 2003, Zondeki played his first test match at Leeds against England. Zondeki chipped in a useful 59 runs in 128 balls which included 10 boundaries and scored his first half century in the first innings. He was not made to bowl due to a side injury. South Africa won the match by 191 runs. The same year he also played in the 2003 World Cup South Africa team as a replacement for Allan Donald. In 2005, Zondeki recorded his test career best figure of 6 wickets for 39 runs in a match against Zimbabwe.
In a total of 11 One day International matches, Zondeki has claimed 8 wickets at an economy of 5.44 runs per over. He also has 16 wickets to his name at an economy of 3.79 runs per over in the 5 test matches that he has played.
