Following their closely contested match on Sunday, Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals will be in action once again on Tuesday, with both teams looking to edge ahead in their rivalry. The match will be played in Jaipur.
After being behind through most part of the match, Delhi Daredevils managed to just do enough and edged to victory by one run. In a display of sheer intensity and competitiveness, Delhi Daredevils proved why they are at the top of the table.
They held their nerve to defend 13 runs from the final two overs. Captain Virender Sehwag will be pleased with the team’s performance and his own performance as well. He scored 63 runs off merely 39 balls in a whirlwind knock.
However, the middle-order batsmen need to show signs of improvement as Ross Taylor sluggishly marched towards 25 from 35 balls. The bowlers, though struggled to pick up wickets, did just enough to remain in the hunt and eventually [[Morne Morkel] and [[Umesh Yadav] delivered the clinical overs expected of them. Morkel has not been picking up many wickets in recent matches but his economy is still a valuable asset.
Rajasthan Royals’ painful defeat sees them fall down the table to seventh spot with four wins from nine matches. They will be extremely disappointed at the result after having their noses in front through most part of the run chase.
Ajinkya Rahane has been their pivotal player, as he played freely yet again, scoring 84 off just 63 balls. Rahul Dravid, the captain, has been masterful as well as the opening pair has put on five half-century partnerships this season. With the ball, Kevon Cooper maintained a tidy line and length and will again be at the forefront of bowling options that Royals will use.
The match will be played in Jaipur, starting at 8.00pm.
