India’s best win in ODIs continues here from the second part…

Pakistan – National Stadium, Bangladesh – January 18, 1998 sachin tendulkar This was an epic clash between two rivals in a high stakes game. It was the third final of the Silver Jubilee tournament in Dhaka between two evenly matched sides. Pakistan batted first and posted a mammoth total of 314 runs from the allotted 48 overs, through two brilliant centuries from Saeed Anwar and Ijaz Ahmed.

India responded brilliantly through a blitzkrieg from Sachin Tendulkar and then through a brilliant hundred from Sourav Ganguly. It was the beginning of a wonderful year for India, in which they would go on to win five more tournaments.

Australia – Sharjah, UAE – April 24, 1998 sourav ganguly This was the final of an exciting tournament and India had reached the final through a brilliant century from Sachin Tendulkar in the last league game.

The little master did it once again in the final on his 24th birthday. He scored a match winning hundred while chasing a big total and was aided by a vital fifty from the captain, Mohammed Azharuddin.

Australia – The Gabba, Australia – March 4, 2008 This was a great win for India and it was the youngsters who were behind this epic win. However, they were given a major helping hand by the veteran, Sachin Tendulkar, who made an excellent 91.

India made a modest 258 from their 50 overs but bowled brilliantly to restrict Australia for just 249 runs. India had already won the first final and this win made them the champions.
