IPL releases new auction list
The Indian Premier League has pruned down the list of international cricketers in the list for the auctions to 51. Earlier, 97 cricketers had applied to the IPL for the auctions, and the list was then circulated to the IPL franchises. The owners then selected the players that they could be interested in through the auctions.
This pruned down list does not include Chris Cairns who was removed by the chairman of the IPL, Lalit Modi, for his alleged role in match-fixing during the ICL. This list also does not include the players from England, who have been dropped due to some issues between the English cricket board and the IPL committee over the availability of the players. >
The IPL will overlap with the domestic competition of the ECB for a period of three weeks and their cricket board has said that the players will not be released during that time. Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff are already a part of the IPL, and they were bought by Bangalore and Chennai respectively for $1.55 million.
The IPL starts from 12th of March this year. The following are the players which are a part of the auction. Following are the players in the auction.
