Kathy Long is a female American kickboxer from California, United States. Long was born on April 21, 1964, and is known for being a World kickboxing champion for five times as well as for acting in a number of movies. Long also is noted as one responsible for providing a commentary at the very first UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) event.
Long marked her debut into mixed martial arts after she defeated Avery Viche. Before that victory, Long practiced martial arts for a number of years, starting her training by dabbling in Aikido, and eventually earning a black belt in the practice. Long also earned black belts in Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate and in Chinese Kung Fu San Soo. In the latter, however, she was able to go further than earning a black belt by becoming a master. Other martial arts that Long mastered include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wing Chun Kung Fu, and Kali.
As a professional martial artist, Long has participated in 19 fights, winning 18 of these and having one loss. Long holds 5 world titles, along with a number of nicknames such as “The Punisher”, “Princess of Pain”, and “Queen of Mean”. Before her debut fight, Long trained hard under many notable names in the business such as Romie Aram and Betiss Mansouri of Millennia MMA, Gym Jones’ Lisa Twight and Ahmad Reese, and Gene LeBell and Gokor Chivichyan of Hayastan Academy.
