Alfonso Lopez III or famously known as “El Tigre” is an American professional boxer from Corpus Christi, Texas who was born on May 16, 1982.This 29 year old pro boxer won his first boxing match in March 17, 2007 at the age of 25 against Bonnie Joe McGee in his own hometown. This was also his first fight as a professional boxer. On that same year, he fought and won four more times. He first defeated Jason Crawford by June at the Convention Center in Pasadena, Texas. Then the next three fights were held at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Houston, Texas. The boxers he defeated were Jason Lane, Jonathan Jones, and Larry Pryor.
By 2008, Lopez then fought five times, which were all held in Texas. He fought in two occasions at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Houston. The first one was in January 2008, defeating Raheem Gordon, and then by April, over Anthony Greeley. The next three matches were victories over Rayford Johnson by May, Theo Kruger by July and Gabriel River by August.
He started 2009 in victory when he defeated James Johnson at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Houston, Texas by January. Then his first match outside Texas was in Arkansas which was a win over Jonathan Bruch by March 2009. In that same match, he won over a fight against Billy Thompson back in Houston, Texas. His latest recorded fight was a win over against Ronald Weaver at the Pontchartain Center in Kenner, Louisiana by May 2009.
Recently, Lopez faced Kelly Pavlik but was not able to win. This marked his first ever defeat in his career. The said bout was held as an undercard to the Pacquiao-Mosley bout that was held in May 2011.
