Andrea Gardner was born on December 23, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has three brothers: Anthony, Darnell, and Robert. She is an American basketball player who attended Julia R. Masterman School in Philadelphia.
Andrea attended Howard University and was twice named MEAC Player Of The Year, in 2001 and 2002. A center, Andrea was drafted in the second round by the Utah Starzz, as the 27th overall pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft. She scored a career high of 14 points as on 19th July, 2002 whilst playing against the Orlando Miracle team.
Andrea came off the bench for the team during her rookie year, but then was let out of her contract. She tried out for the San Antonio Silver Stars and the Seattle Storm, but they did not pick up her contract, and she left to play overseas.
She played for Fenerbahçe Ýstanbul in Turkey, and in Cyprus. She also played for a brief period with the major teams like the Seattle Storm and the San Antonio Silver Stars. On April 17, 2008 Gardner returned to the WNBA and signed with the Washington Mystics.
