Knicks sign three new assistant coaches

The New York Knicks on Friday 20th 2008 added three new assistant coaches to the team staff. The president of the New York Knicks, Donnie Walsh said that Herb Williams, Phil Weber and Dan D’Antoni will be of great help as they work towards bringing the wining streak back to the Knicks.

Over the past years Phil and Dan have achieved a huge amount of success with the Phoenix Suns, whereas Herb Williams has always played a vital role in the team’s success for many years.

Phil was an assistant coach for the Phoenix for nine years and also coached at the University of Florida, Iona College and the Chaminade University in his early years before making a stand still with the Knicks.

William and Dan have also been a part of the Knicks staff for more than 6 years. Williams has also got an opportunity as an temporary head coach serving for almost 44 games which also includes the 43 games played in the 2003-04 season. Dan has won more than 500 games in his 30 years at the Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach. He is also an inventor of the Beach Ball Classic tournament, one of the most esteemed high school basketball tournaments in the country.

The three coaches will be in action in the upcoming NBA season.
