Wesley Wright
Dequam LaWesley Wright is a professional baseball player who specializes as a relief pitcher. Wright was picked directly out of high school, at the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft, by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 7th round. He began in the Pioneer League and played for the Ogden Raptors in the 2004 season. In 2005, Wright first played for the Columbus Catfish and then went on to play for the Vero Beach Dodgers in a Low-A and A-Leagues.
In 30 games for the 2005 season, Wright had a 1.93 ERA as the relief pitcher. 2006 began at Vero beach for Wright and 25 games later, he was pitching at an ERA of 1.48 to get promoted to the Jacksonville Suns. Ending 2006 and beginning 2007 with the Suns, Wright moved up to the Las Vegas 51s, in the AAA-League.
In December 2007, the Houston Astros signed Wright in a Rule 5 Draft move from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wright began 2008 on the MLB roster for the Astros and was also in favour being the only lefty in the bullpen. His debut came in March, against the San Diego Padres
