Jacque Dewayne Jones is a professional baseball player who plays as an outfielder. Jones attended the San Diego High School as well as the University of South Carolina and was known for his brilliant career at the latter. In 1993, he was named as the Player of the Year in the SCL after averaging .332 with the bat with 33 home runs and 124 RBIs. In 1994, he was named as an All-American outfielder and a couple of years later, he was part of the US Olympic Baseball Team.

In the 1996 Amateur Draft, the Minnesota Twins drafted Jones in the second round and he went on to spend 3 seasons in the minor leagues. In 1999, he finally got a call to play in the MLB and started in center field but with Torii Hunter coming in, he was moved to the left field. In 2002-03, he had a .300 batting average and was picked for the playoffs. He averaged 20 home runs a season between 2000 and 2005 along with 100 strikeouts a season. At the end of the 2005 season, the Twins turned down arbitration and Jones signed a three year deal with the Chicago Cubs.

He played out the 2006 season with a .285 batting average and hit 27 home runs but as always, struck out over a 100 times, 116 to be accurate. Despite rumours, Jones requested not to be traded at the end of the season but was never on the good side of the fans. He got less playing time and that didn't go down well with him. However, in 2007, he was traded out to the Detroit Tigers in return for Omar Infante. Jones just hit .165 in his first 24 games and was immediately designated for assignment. In May of 2008, he was released by the Tigers.

In 2008, he signed a minor league deal with the Florida Marlins and attended an extended Spring Training session. He was subsequently added to the MLB roster and made his debut in May. A month later, he was designated for assignment and decided to become a free agent instead. In February 2009, Jones signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds.
