Sean Christopher Marshall, also known as "Coolcat" Marshall, is a professional baseball player from the United States of America who plays as a pitcher in the Major League of Baseball. Marshall played for the Manchester High School and played baseball for his school. In 2000, he graduated from high school and attended the Virginia Commonwealth University. In his junior year, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 6th round of the MLB draft.

Marshall's college career was quite memorable and in his junior season, he had a 7-2 record along with a 2.61 ERA. In 86.1 innings, he got 95 strikeouts. Marshall was a part of the minor league structure at the Chicago Cubs before making his debut with the team in 2006. He began in the A-league with the Boise hawks and every season, moved up a division. In 2006, Marshall progressed through the lower divisions to finally get a place on the 40-man roster of the Chicago Cubs.

Marshall ended his debut season with a 5-8 win-loss record and an ERA of 4.98. His second season started on the injury list. However, he came back to make a large impact despite suffering from a poor start on his return to the league. In 2008, he had 5 wild pitches in 14.2 innings, resulting in a push down to the minor leagues. He has been in and out of the squad in 2008.
