Brandon Tyler Webb is a National League baseball player, who plays as a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Webb went to the Paul G. Blazer high School, graduating in 1997. A ball player in high school, Webb decided to go to college around his hometown, and at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, he was a part of the baseball team. In 2003, he was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks mainly due to the injuries to Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling.

The 2004 season saw Webb get a 7-16 record, leading the team in losses in a season when the team only managed 51 wins. He was even ejected from a game after hitting St. Louis Cardinals' starter Woody Williams. His record improved over the next year, when he picked up a 14-12 record with an 3.54 ERA. He got a contract extension for 4-years, 19.5 million as well as a team option for the 2010 season.

In 2006, he had a 8-0 record in his first 13 starts, making him a strong contender for the National League Cy Young Award. Named to the All-Star National League team and in the 2006 All Star game, he pitched a hitless inning. His 2006 season ended with a 16-8 record, with an ERA of 3.10 and he became the recipient of the National League Cy Young Award. His win total, however, was the lowest number of wins for a starting pitcher to have the Cy Young award in a full season.

In 2007, he had a 42 1/3 inning run-less record that included three complete game shutouts in a row. A franchise record, the streak was also the twelfth longest streak in the history of the National league, and the fifth longest since 1940. In 2008, Webb won the first nine games in a row to become the first pitcher to do so since Andy Hawkins' ten in 1985. A 13-4 record, with a 3.21 ERA took him to the All-Star team where he pitched a scoreless 14th inning. He came second in the national Cy Young Awards, losing out to Tim Lincecum, his second runner-up award in a row.
