Jeremy Shane Guthrie was born on April 8, 1979, in Roseburg, Oregon. He is a right-handed starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.

High School Jeremy was born in Roseburg, Oregon and grew up in Ashland, Oregon, where he attended Ashland High School. He graduated in 1997.
College Jeremy attended Brigham Young University during his freshman year, 1997-98, then transferred to Stanford. He was a starting pitcher on the Stanford team.
Minor Leagues Jeremy spent the 2006 season as a starting pitcher for the Buffalo Bisons.
On January 19, 2007, the Cleveland Indians designated him for assignment, and he was picked up by the Baltimore Orioles.
During the 2007 season, he has become one of the best and most consistent pitchers in the American League. He ranked 2nd in ERA, and allowed more than 2 earned runs in just 1 out of 10 starts.
In 2008, he has a 5-7 record through the All-Star break.
Personal Jeremy currently lives in Arizona with his wife Jenny and his daughter Avery.
He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spain.
