Wide receiver Marques Colston played his college football for Hofstra University and was the 252nd overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints, his present team, selected him in the seventh round. Colston is fondly called as “The Quiet Storm” due to his exceptional talent and reserved demeanor.

In four years at Division I-AA Hofstra, Colston played in 40 games, making 37 starts. He made 182 receptions, scored 18 touchdowns and accumulated 2,834 receiving yards. He was named to the First-team All-Atlantic Conference after he made 70 receptions for 976 yards and 5 touchdowns. As of 2010, Colston has made 361 receptions and 40 touchdowns of 4,995 receiving yards.

In two seasons with New Orleans, the wide receiver has played in 30 games. He has 168 receptions for 2,266 yards and a 13.3 YPC average. Colston has caught 19 TD passes, made 116 first downs and fumbled once, losing the ball.

Colston, who stands six-foot-four and weighs 225 pounds, possesses a large frame and has reliable hands. His initial quickness is good and his acceleration is average. Colston displays good body control, extends nicely when going for the ball and can find the seam in the middle. He adjusts to coverage well, although his routes could be crisper. Colston offers good timing on jumps and excellent strength when it comes to breaking tackles. He ably controls defenders, although he can get hung up at the line and does not show many moves. He compensates for these disadvantages by using his speed and power.
