Luis Perez Companc

Luis Perez Companc was born in Argentina in 1972 and his reputation is undeniable incredible in his home continent of South America; and with good reason!

Luis Perez had started out his career as a co-driver for his brother Jorge. Together, the brothers participated in many competitions around the South American Continent and even in other continents. During one such cross country event in Sardinia, they had a bad crash and the result of it was that the two decided to split and go their own ways. It was at that time that Luis decided to become a driver, and no longer stay as a navigator.

His debut as a Rally driver happened in 2000, at the Rally de Rojas. Although the result was nothing noteworthy, he went on to participate in a number of Group N Events, including a fouth place finish at his maiden World Rally Championship Group N rally, in Argentina, in 2001.

His continued participation in the national event led him to the Stobart VK Ford banner who decided to bring him onboard, alongside Mathew Wilson, in 2006. He drove on 8 World Rally Championship events with the Stobart team before joining the Munchi's Ford Rally Team in 2007. He asked Juan Pablo Raies to join him as the second driver for 10 rounds of the series. They drove a Ford Focus 2006 WRC for this journey.

The best Luis managed, was a 5th place in 2007. For the year 2008, his schedule has shortened further as he will participate only in Argentina, Jordan and Finland. A strong finish in one of these three events might help Companc gain a few extra rides in the coming seasons.
