Daniel Elena

Daniel Elena was born in the small Principality of Monaco in the year 1972. With a real passion for Rallying, Elena's career has been a true representation of how he loves to live his life – Fast!

Elena started his co-driving career in 1997, alongside Herve Bernard. The partnership just lasted one season before he shifted loyalties to join up an upcoming star, Sebastien Loeb, in 1998. The two developed an incredible relationship with both being extremely cool and unperturbed under pressure. The partnership blossomed and the duo took the Citroen Saxo trophy in 1999.

Their silverware run didn't stop there, in fact, it was just getting started. After the Citroen Saxo trophy in 1999, the pair went onto win the French Gravel title in 2000 and the FIA Super 1600 Championship, in a Citroen Saxo, in 2001.
So when Loeb was picked for the World Rally Championships, it was all but natural that Elena would follow. And follow he did.

Since joining Citroen with Loeb, the pair has literally destroyed all opposition hands down. In 2006, Elena achieved the status of being the most successful co-driver in the history of the World Rally Championships.

In the Citroen Xsara, he guided Loeb to victory in 2004, 2005 and 2006. They changed cars in 2007, to a Citroen C4WRC, but the result was the same again. They won the whole thing and it was almost as if the other drivers didn't need to worry about first place cause Loeb and Elena would always be there.

For 2008, the pair are trying to do the unthinkable, 5 consecutive Drivers' and co-drivers' titles. Their history has enough evidence that doubting their ability to achieve this feat would be foolish.
