Robinho

Robson de Souza, popularly known as Robinho, is a young Brazilian international footballer currently playing his club football with the Spanish and European giants Real Madrid. Born in Parque Bitaru, a poor neighborhood of São Vicente in Santos, Robinho has arched an amazing trajectory in the world of football and is now regarded as one of the finest players the world has ever seen.

Robinho commenced his professional career at Brazilian giants Santos at the age of 18, scoring 9 goals in 24 apperances as Santos leapt to the 2002 Campeonato Brasileiro conquest. He continued to develop after that at Santos and began to be compared with the football legend Pele very soon.

In the summerof 2005, Real Madrid signed Robinho after a much protracted transfer shenanigan and displayed a decent performance in his debut season for the Merengues. In the 2006-2007 season, Robinho exhibited his true class and quality as he gradually grooved himself into an indispensible fraction of the Real Madrid set-up and helped Real to their 30th La Liga triumph.

Robinho has continued to impress in the 2007-2008 and has once again been an important part of the side that clinched their 31st Spanish league championship. Robinho is famed for his runs down the wings, intrciate dribbling and accurate shooting.

Robinho has featured 36 times for Brazil but has manged just 12 goals. He played in the 2006 World Cup for Brazil.
