Charde became the all-time leading scorer in California High School history with 3,837 points, breaking Cheryl Miller?s previous mark of 3,446.
She led her team to the CIF Division I State Final as a senior. She was named to the USA Today 2004 All-USA Second Team, the 2004 McDonald?s All-America Team and the 2004 WBCA All-America Team. She was ranked as the No. 2 senior nationally by All-Star Girls Report.
University
Charde attended the University of Connecticut, majoring in psychology. She played for the UConn Huskies under coach Geno Auriemma from 2004-2008.
In her freshman year, Charde started in 12 games and came off the bench in the remaining contests. She was named third Team All-BIG EAST and selected to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. Charde led the Huskies in both blocks and steals, and ranked second on the team with 78 rebounds.
In her sophomore year, she also came off the bench for all but four games. She was named a member of the BIG EAST Honorable Mention Team.
Charde became a starter in her junior year.

Charde was drafted in the third round of the 2008 WNBA Draft, and was the 30th pick overall by the Minnesota Lynx.
