Khadijah Ameenah Whittington is the daughter of Monsoor Mohammed and Dalmer Whittington. She has three older brothers: Marvin, Ibrahim and Rahman, and one sister, Tameka.

High School
Khadijah attended Woodrow Wolson High School. She was ranked No. 19 by Blue Star Index and No. 37 by All Sports. She lettered four years in basketball and one in volleyball. She was named the Gatorade Virginia Player of the Year, AP Group AA first team All-State, Blue Ridge District Player of the Year, Tidewater Player of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year by the Portsmouth Sports Club, Orlando Sentinel All-South Team, Virginian-Pilot Player of the Year, Virginian-Pilot first Team, first team all-district, all-region.

University
Khadijah attended North Carolina State University at Raleigh (NC State). She played from 2004 to 2008.

In her freshman year (2004-2005), she came off the bench, and was selected to the ACC All-Freshman team . She led the team in free throws attempted and made.

In her sophomore year, she was the leading rebounder, and also led the team in free throw attempts, and in double doubles.

In her junior year, Khadijah was named third team All-ACC. She also became the first Wolfpacker in 20 years to average a double-double. She had 12 double-doubles, 18 double-figure scoring games and 19 double-digit rebounding games.

WNBA
Khadijah was selected in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. She was chosen in the second round and was the 26th pick overall.
