Jarko Ruutu is a Finnish left winger for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ruutu was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks after spending three seasons with HIFK of the Finnish SM-liiga. Ruutu played parts of 6 seasons with the Canucks, setting a career high of 82 games played in 2006-07. Ruutu has made a name for himself as one of the league�s most notorious pests, adept at getting under the skin of opposing players. In 2006, Ruutu signed with Pittsburgh, where he has quickly become a fan favorite. He led the team in PIM with 125.
Jarko has represented Finland on the international stage five times, including at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Ruutu made headlines when he leveled Czech star Jaromir Jagr, and injured him. The Finns went on to win the silver medal.
