Kris Letang is a Canadian defenseman on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Letang had an exceptional career in the QMJHL, where he was a frequent all-star and recipient of multiple awards. He was drafted by the penguins in the 3rd round of the 2005 draft and played his first NHL game in the 2006-07 season. This past season he was recalled to the Penguins and has been a consistent contributor. Letang is a solid defenseman, but has demonstrated a keen ability to create offense as well.
Kris played for Team Canada at the World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007, winning gold in the last two trips. He was also named to the tournament all-star team in 2007.
