Vera Zvonareva from Russia is one of the well-known tennis pro who indulged in tennis at the very young age of 6 as introduced by her mother Natalie. Vera is a baseliner who can perform and play the sport in all surfaces. To improve her stamina and speed, she is going through off-court trainings like swimming and running.

She plays right-handed, two-handed backhand and turned pro in September 2000 at the age of 16 and currently in the 22nd ranking position. She reached no.9 in August 9, 2004 of which is her career high for singles. Also in rank no.9 that she made her career high for doubles in August 8, 2005.

Recently, she won her sixth career tour title when she defeated Azarenka in the finals at Prague then reached third runner up at Rome after winning against Venus Williams.

Her grand slams for singles include being the first runner up in the Australian Open of this year and finishes at third runner up in 2007 for the US Open. Vera Zvonareva made six career single titles in tennis for 2008 in Prague, at Birmingham and Cincinnati in 2006, then in Memphis in 2004 to 2005 and in Bol in 2003. Her career doubles titles include two of 2006 for the Us Open with Dechy and Auckland with Likhovtseva, in 2005 for Berlin also partnered with Likhovtseva. Lastly, for Moscow she played with Myskina and won in 2004. She also played mixed doubles and victorious in 2006 with Ram in Wimbledon tournament and in 2004 for the US Open with B. Bryan. Vera is holding six titles for singles, four for doubles and at 21 grand slams.

Moreover, she is part of the Russian Fed Cup Team in 2003-04 and in 2008. Among her great success in the sport, she also has won several junior events. It comprise with the orange Bowl Under 18's in 2000 and 2001, followed by the Continental Cup and Yucutan Cup both in 2001.
