Ketia attended Columbus High School. She was named the 2003 and 2004 Columbus Ledger-Enquirer Player of the Year, was three-time Georgia AAAA All-State First Team choice (2002, 2003, 2004), and 2003 Georgia AAAA Region Player of the Year. Other accolades included being four-time Metro Player of the Year, 2003 Street & Smith All-America Fifth Team, 2002 Street & Smith All-America Honorable Mention, and 2001 Georgia AAAA All-State Honorable Mention.

University

Ketia attended the University of Connecticut, majoring in sociology. She played basketball for the Huskies under coach Geno Auriemma.

She rarely started, but rather came off the bench, where she "flourished in her role as the Huskies' change-of-pace guard." Despite coming off the bench, she was always among the team leaders leaders in steals and assists in each season.
