Jolene Anderson was born on July 22, 1986 to Jim and Julie Anderson. She has two sisters, Jennifer and Janice.
High school
Jolene attended South Shore High School in Wisconsin, and was the state's all-time leading scorer as a senior with 2,881 career points. She also holds the scoring records for most points in a game (58) and in a season (956). She led her team to the WIAA State Division 4 final finishing the year with a 24-2 record. Jolene was ranked the No. 52 best shooting guard in the country by All-Star Girls Report.
University
Jolene attended Wisconsin University from 2004 to 2008, majoring in Sociology. She played basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers under coach Lisa Stone.
In her senior year, Jolene was named 2008 Big Ten Player of the Year by the media, and first team All-Big Ten by the media and coaches after leading the Big Ten in scoring for a second-consecutive year. She was the Badgers' leader in scoring and rebounding, as she had been for four straight years.
Jolene became UW's all-time leading scorer in her 118th career game, scoring over 2,000 points. Indeed she finished her career fourth in Big Ten career scoring with 2,312 points. She is the only UW player to rank among the top 10 in four major career categories: 1st with 2,312 points; 6th with 848 rebounds; 4th with 409 assists; and 6th with 242 steals.
