Joan Capdevila Mendez is a Spanish international footballer who currently features for the Spanish first division side Villarreal. Capdevilla's wonted position is left back but he can play as a left winger too with equal distinction.
Joan Capdevilla is a product of the youth system of the Cataan club Espanyol Barcelona and played for Madrid giants Atletico Madrid too for a year.
But his best years came at the Galician side Deportivo la Coruna for whom he featured from 2000 to 2007. He was transferred to Villarreal in the summer of 2007 and has been a regular first choice for Manuel Pellegrini at left-back.
