Josemi is a Spanish football player who current features for the Spanish side Villarreal. Josemi plays as a defender and is renowed for his strenght and power and man-marking skills. Josemi prefers to play as a right back but his versatality allows his to play in central defence too.

Josemi began his career at modest Spanish club Malaga and got his big break in 2004 when he was signed by Premiership giants Liverpool for 2 million pounds and was Rafael Benitez's first signing at Anfield. But in his one and a half years at the Merseyside, Josemi featured in just 22 matches and in January 2006 was swapped with Jan Kromkamp of Villarreal.
