Juan Valera Espín, simply known as Valera, is a Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Valera is actually a midfielder but his versatality allows him to play as a defender and as a right back.

Juan Valera commenced his professional career at little known Bullas FC in 2000 and moved onto Real Murcia in 2003. He played for Murcia for two years and was signed by Atletico Madrid in 2005. Valera though has got very few opportunities at Atletico in his three seasons at the Vicente Calderon.
