Miguel Ángel de las Cuevas Barberá, most commonly known as Miguel, is a young Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. He is essentially an attacking midfielder.

Miguel began his professional career with modest Spanish side Hercules CF in the Segunda Division in 2004 and in the summer of 2006 was signed by Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid.

But he sustained a serious ankle injury in preseason that year and was out of action for more than a year. It was only in December, 2007 that Miguel managed to make his debut for Atletico in a Copa del Rey tie against Granada 74.
