Edison Arantes do Nascimento, more commonly known by his nickname Pelé, is a former Brazilian football player. He is a national icon and a consensus of media and expert polls rank him as the best football player of all time.
Pelé played for Santos between 1956-1974 and for the New York Cosmos between 1975-1977.
He won the World Cup with Brazil three times and was voted Athlete of the Century by the Olympic Committee in 1999.
