Gabriel Alejandro Milito is an Argentine international defender currently featuring for the Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona. He is reputed for his positional sense and tough marking and is the younger brother of Diego Milito who too plays in Spain but for Real Zaragoza.

Gabriel Milito commenced playing professional football for Argentine giants Independiente in the year 2000 and stayed there until 2003. He was signed by Real Zaragoza after a protracted move to Spanish giants Real Madrid broke down due to a plethora of reasons including Milito’s medical fitness reports.

Milito caught the attention of the bigger clubs instantly at Real Zaragoza. He was one of the best players for the four seasons that he featured for them. At the end of the 2006-2007 season, Diego Milito was signed by Barcelona for an immense transfer fee of 20.5 million euros. He signed a four deal at the Blaugrana worth 4 million euros a year.

Milto settled into the first team at Barcelona from the very start of the season and has been one of the very few consistent performers in the side that one again failed to land any trophy at Camp Nou. But at the start of May, it as announced that Milito had damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and shall be out of football for at least 6 months.

Gabriel Milito has been an Argentine international since 2000 and has featured 32 times for the South American giants. He was part of the Argentine national squad that played in the 206 Germany World Cup squad.
