The right-arm medium pace bowler also played for Wellington from 1932 to 1954 during which she injured her toe and lost her Test debut against England in 1935.
However, in 1938 Lamason captained New Zealand in a non-Test tour of NSW and later in 1948 she led New Zealand at home in their first Test against Australia and followed by a match against England.

Later, she served as assistant manager on New Zealand’s 1966 tour of England and also manager for the first World Cup in 1973.
Ina Lamason died in Auckland on April 30 1994 only 2 days prior to her 83rd birthday.
Career Highlights
The Dive-Lamason Cup for Under-23 internationals is named after Ina in her honor.
