Holly Colvin

Holly Colvin was selected for England for the first Ashes Tests against Australia in 2005, becoming the youngest person to play a Test for England at the age of 15 years and 336 days.

Colvin is a right-hand batsman and slow left arm bowler. She attended Westbourne House School in West Sussex and played as a batsman. Competing in the Lord's Taverners under-15 Cup in 2004, Colvin became the only girl amid the 1000 participating teams alongside team mate Sarah Taylor.

Colvin also played for Sussex County Cricket Club from 2005 and helped the Sussex teams win the women's County Championship in 2005 and 2008.

Colvin’s international debut for England came in August 2005 when she took 3 vital wickets in her inaugural game. She also featured, prominently so, in the 2008 season when she took 18 wickets from 8 home ODIs at an average of 8.94. In the Women’s World Cup of 2009 she took 9 wickets at 18 in 7 matches, consistent but not impressive.

Career Highlights

Colvin has 3 test matches, 25 One Day Internationals and 3 Twenty20 matches to her credit until 2008.

She was the highest wicket taker, with 9 for 106, in the inaugural Women's World Twenty20 in England in 2009.

Colvin was named as 'Female Pupil of the Year' by The Telegraph's 'School Sport Matters' campaign in 2006.
