Philippe Mexès is a French international footballer who currently plays for the Italian giants AS Roma. Mexes is a highly rated central defender and is reputed to be one of the best not only in Italy but in Europe.

Philippe Mexes commenced his professional career at French side AJ Auxerre in 1999 and after the end of the 2003-2004 season when his swelling reputation demanded a step up to a bigger club he signed for AS Roma for 7 millin euros. After a difficult first season in Roma, Mexes developed into one of the most vital players for Roma and is now firmly established at the heart of Roma's defence.
