Suzie Bates

Suzie Bates represented Otago Women in club cricket. In 2006, she made her international debut against India. She made the best of this chance and continuously scored runs for New Zealand which consequently won the series 4-1. In the same year, she was not selected for the Rose Bowl Cup against Australia. In early 2007, she was chosen for the Quadrangular series against India. She scored her maiden ODI century in this series in just which was her 9th game. She participated in 7 games in this series and scored 241 runs at 34.42.

Bates is an aggressive batsman who takes a fair amount of risk. During the 2009 World Cup, she had a lion’s share in New Zealand’s progress to the final. In the crucial Super Six game against India, she remained unbeaten on 47. In the league phase while playing against South Africa, she took 4 wickets. Moreover, in the match against Pakistan she faced 105 balls and bashed 168 runs.
