Jeremy Shockey is a tight end playing for the NFL's New York Giants. Shockey, who played for the University of Miami, was the 14th pick overall in the 2002 NFL Draft.

The tight end has been a four-time Pro Bowl selection, and in his rookie season, he was All-Pro. He was a member of the Giants team that upset the heavily favored New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. In 2002, he was chosen as the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.

In six years with New York, the tight end has caught 371 passes for 4,228 yards. He's handled 27 touchdown passes and fumbled five times, losing three. During his career, he's averaged 11.4 yards per catch.

Shockey, who is six-foot-five and 251 pounds, is a prototypical tight end, possessing a tall body and presenting a fine target. He's a physically tough player, punishing those on the offensive line. Shockey is a fine athlete who can explode off the line and, once he's got a pass in his hands, uses his balance, body control and speed to ramble down field. His sure hands and ability to make acrobatic catches on poorly thrown passes make him a major asset. The tight end is a very good blocker who can take out bigger opponents. Over the years, he's been injury prone and has slowed and worn down a bit.
