Plaxico Burress is a wide receiver for the New York Giants of the National Football League. In 2000, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him out of Michigan State in the first-round. Burress was the eighth pick overall.

He played with the Steelers from 2000 to 2005. In 2001, he scored six touchdowns and had over 1,000 receiving yards and in 2002 he caught seven touchdown passes and accumulated 1,335 yards.

Burress had 1,025 receiving yards in 2007. Of his 70 catches that season, 12 were for touchdowns, marking his highest single season scoring total. In the 2007 playoffs, he caught one touchdown pass. It was the winning score in the Super Bowl. Burress had predicted that the Giants would win the game 23- 17. Although ridiculed, he was close, as the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 17- 14.

In eight seasons and 118 games, Burress has caught 470 passes for 7,391 yards. His career average is 15.7 yards per catch. He's caught a total of 51 touchdowns.
