Alex Auld fan club

Alex Auld is a Canadian goalie on the Dallas Stars.

Auld has been somewhat of an NHL journeyman since being drafted by Florida in 1999. He was traded to Vancouver before ever playing in Florida, and saw limited playing time in the 3 seasons leading up to the lockout. In 2005, he played a career high 67 games, recording a respectable 2.94 GAA over the season. He was traded to Florida in 2006, as part of the trade that brought Roberto Luongo to Vancouver. He was supposed to be the starter in Florida, but ended up spending most of the season as Ed Belfour’s backup. He was traded to Phoenix in 2007, but ended up playing most of the season in Boston, where he played 23 games as a backup, recording 3 shutouts and a 2.32 GAA. He signed with Ottawa in the 2008 offseason, and won the starting job midway through the season. Auld won only 16 games for the Senators, and the team made Pascal Leclaire the starter for the 2009-10 season. Auld signed with Dallas in the offseason.

Auld has played for Team Canada at 3 different international competitions, winning a bronze medal at the 2001 World Juniors, as well as a bronze medal in the 2004 Spengler Cup.
