Carlos Alberto Tevez is an Argentine international football player who currently features for the Premier League and European giants Manchester United. He plays as a striker and according to the Argentine legend Diego Armando Maradona is the “Argentine prophet for the 21st century”.

Carlos Tevez was raised in the volatile and disturbing area of Fuerta Apache neighbourhood of Ejercito de Los Andes. When he was a child, he met with an accident with boiling water that caused a ghastly scar from his right ear down his neck to his chest.

Carlos Tevez developed at the youth academy of Boca Junios and made his debut for the senior side in 2001. He played for Boca until 2004 and won an Argentine Championship(2003), a Copa Libertadores(2003), an Intercontinental Cup(2003) and a Copa Sudamericana(2004).

In December 2004, Carlos Tevez was signed by Brazilian side Corinthians for 20 million euros on a five-year contract worth 10 million euros and won the Brazilian league with the club in 2005.

In the summer of 2006 he along with his Argentine teammate Javier Mascherano was signed by Premier League side West Ham United for 12 million pounds. Mascherano was actually left out of the start at the start of the 2006-2007 season by Alan Pardew but soon got the due recognition from his replacement Alan Curbishley and it was he who saved the Hammers from the dreaded drop to the Championship when he scored a flurry of goals and inspired the team with his passion and worth ethic in the last few weeks of the season.

Carlos Tevez moved to Manchester United from West Ham United in the summer of 2007 although a hornet’s nest was stirred when West Ham refused to sell the player although the player’s owners MSI wanted to sell the player to United. In the end however United signed Tevez.

Carlos Tevez continued his run of rich vein at Old Trafford and was a regular for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. He won the Premier League in 2007-2008, scoring 14 goals in 34 league appearances and also won the UEFA Champions League the same season.

Carlos Tevez made his international debut for Argentina in 2004 and played in the 2006 Germany World Cup for his nation. He has featured in 35 matches for Argentina.
