Muhsin Muhammad, who played his college football with Michigan State, is a wide receiver for the NFL's Carolina Panthers. The Panthers chose Muhammad in the second-round of the 1996 NFL Draft. He was the 43rd pick overall.

Muhammad, who is six-foot-two and 215 pounds, played for the Panthers from 1996-2004. In 2005, after being released by Carolina, he signed a six-year deal with the Chicago Bears. In 2008, after being released by Chicago, he inked a two-year deal with his former team, the Panthers.

The receiver has talent, leadership qualities and topnotch intangibles. He's a big man possessing experience and smarts. Muhammad has the ability to screen defenders, run exact routes and intimidate. With fine red-zone skills, he's dangerous in the clutch, ably utilizing his strength, body positioning and size to overmatch defenders. Muhammad is also a fine blocker. Although he's lost some speed and strength to age and lately has had a tendency to drop passes, he can still be an effective, efficient and important force on the field.

The wide receiver has been a two-time Pro Bowl pick (1999 and 2004). In 12 years, he's played in 172 games, averaging 13.4 yards per catch and taking in 56 touchdown passes. Prone to losing the ball, Muhammad has fumbled 12 times losing six. He's caught a total of 742 passes for 9,934 yards and 489 first downs. In his second time around with the Panthers, look for the aging receiver to make 2008 a hallmark season.
