Brian Griese is a quarterback for the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. He was chosen by the Denver Broncos in round three of the 1998 draft. He was the 91st pick overall. Prior to turning pro, he played his college football for Michigan.

Griese has played for four clubs in 11 years. His first five seasons were with the Denver Broncos (1998-2002). In 1998, he was the third-string quarterback as starter John Elway guided the team to a Super Bowl championship. When Elway retired in 1999, Griese became the starting field general. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2000. Although he ably completed over 63-percent of his passes with Denver, he was prone to interceptions and injury. He was released after the 2002 season.

He then signed with the Miami Dolphins (2003) and after that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004-2005). Although he performed relatively well with both clubs, he tore his ACL in 2005 and was release by the Bucs in 2006. Griese then signed a five-year deal with the Chicago Bears (2006-2007). He became the club's second-string quarterback with Rex Grossman being chosen as the starter. He was released by the Bears in 2007 and once again is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In 11 seasons, Griese has played in a total of 88 games. Playing intermittently, he has completed 62.9-percent of his throws, hitting for 114 touchdowns and earning a rating of 83.6. He's thrown 92 interceptions.

Griese, although accurate, lacks arm strength and has suffered from various health problems. Overall a good athlete, his experience has given him poise. His mechanics are fine and the quarterback possesses an impressive understanding of the game and situations as they develop. He throws well on the move but has a tendency to throw too many interceptions.
