Rick DiPietro fan club
Rick DiPietro is an American goalie on the New York Islanders.
DiPietro was drafted 1st overall in 2000 by the Islanders, after one stellar season at Boston University. He made his NHL debut the same year, but received little support from his team, and was sent back to the minors. In 2003, he earned himself the starting job again, along with a 15 year contract in 2006, the longest NHL contract ever signed. DiPietro has suffered a number of injuries in the past two seasons, which have severely dampened the Islanders’ chances of being a competitive team.
DiPietro played for Team USA at 5 different international competitions, including the 2006 Winter Olympics, where he was the team’s starter.
