Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who played his college ball for Ohio State, is member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. While at Ohio State, he competed from 2003-2005. Holmes made 240 catches for 3,496 yards, including grabbing 25 touchdowns passes. The Steelers chose Holmes in the first-round of the 2006 draft. The wide receiver was 25th pick overall.

In his first two NFL seasons, Holmes has shown promise and has proven that he possesses the ability to improve. In 2005, his rookie year, he showed talent but played inconsistently for the first half of the season.

In 2006, he appeared in 16 games, making 49 receptions for 824 yards. He scored two touchdowns while averaging 16.8 yards per catch. The next season, the receiver played in 13 games. He made 52 catches totaling 942 yards. Holmes crossed the goal line eight times and averaged 18.1 yards per reception.

The wide receiver possesses good hands and fine speed. He can turn a short reception into a long gain. Competitive and tough, Holmes has the drive to continue to improve. At this point, he's shown the potential to be a legitimate number two receiver and may possibly transform into a number one. But in order to do that, he'll have to develop better hands and be more assertive when going for balls in traffic.
