Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger, who is nicknamed "Big Ben," plays quarterback for the NFL's Pittsburg Steelers. The Steelers drafted him in 2004 as the 11th pick overall. He played his college ball at Miami University.

Roethlisberger has played with Pittsburgh for his entire career. In Super Bowl XL, he led the Steelers to a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. In 2004, the year prior to his Super Bowl victory, the quarterback was chosen as the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Prior to the 2006 season, Big Ben was in a serious motorcycle accident, which made him miss the first game of the season. He also had an emergency appendectomy prior to the start of the season. In 2007, coming off of a sub par year, Roethlisberger had a massive comeback season. That year, he was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Since entering the NFL, Roethlisberger has thrown for 11,673 yards. He's completed 84 touchdown passes, while throwing 54 interceptions. His QB rating is 92.5. In 56 games, he's hit 63.2-percent of his passes for a total of 11,673 yards.

The six-foot-five, 241-pound Roethlisberger has a tough and tall frame that's built for football. Although he's been battered both on and off the field, the field general has proven to be physically and mentally tough, playing well under pressure, showing fine arm strength and displaying a solid feeling for the game. Although not the most mobile quarterback, he's developed a good sense of the collapsing pocket and is a cool competitor. You won't find him winning many foot races, but he does know when to throw the ball away, run out of bounds or take the loss. In 2007, he hit for 32 touchdowns while giving up just 11 interceptions.

2007 proved that Roethlisberger was back. Look for him to be even better this season.
